This was easy and delicious!! I'll definitely make it again. (There were only 3 of us eating, so I had leftovers. If I have a larger group, I'll double the syrup recipe.)

Jeannemae, this is a stuffed French toast so that is why it looks like there are 2 pieces of bread. The 1 inch slice of break has had a pouch cut so it can be stuffed. And, the eggs will make the bread rise so when you bake it, it will be nice and fluffy because the eggs have all been soaked up by the bread. I haven't tried this yet but it is just like others I have tried with a little bit different stuffing. Can't wait to make the sauce!

Before I try this recipe I noticed that the picture appears to show sliced bread..two pieces one on top of another. That would not be the same as a one inch piece. Also what happen when it bakes..seems like the eggs would stick from sitting all night. Guess I will have to try and experiment with i/2 a recipe.
