nicholepaul28 to answer your questions. this is not a true cheesecake layer - no eggs mixed with the cream cheese - so dont worry about your fear of past mishaps with actual cheesecakes, 40 mins is plenty of time. But the key to cream cheese layers is to let them cool on the counter and then in the fridge. This lets them setup and will keep the whip topping from melting. I wouldn't recommend the whipped cream cheese, it has air incorporated into it so volume wise it won't be the same. Also, from experience dont use Fat Free - never works out for me. Either use 1/3 less fat - Neufachatel (spelling) or regular. Hope this helps!

So I have a couple questions. 1. Is 40 minutes long enough to bake? The two times I tried making a cheese cake I failed! 2. Could you use whipped cream cheese instead of the blocks? That way it is already softened? Im heading to the store to go pick up the ingreidents. Nichole

Debbie 8001, You might be able to find it at a Kroger grocery, they are the only one that carries it in our town. Even WALMART doesn't carry it. It seems it is a regional warehouse thing, at least that is what I'm always told when I can't find something I want. lol. Hope this is helpful.
