LOCATION

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Finely chop the cabbage and onions.
  • 2 Brown ground beef and onions on medium heat in a large skillet.
  • 3 When beef and onions are cooked, add the cabbage to skillet, turn heat down to medium-low.
  • 4 Gently stir together until cabbage becomes soft. Take skillet off of heat.
  • 5 Add salt, pepper and garlic powder - adjust to preference.
  • 6 Roll out all pizza dough into a large rectangle. Cut into 4 sections. Spoon meat mixture into the center of each of the dough sections - the more you can fit, the better. Compress onto dough.
  • 7 With each of the dough sections, take all edges of the dough and fold up and over to have the edges meet at the top of the meat mixture, wrapping the edges over each other, sealing the pastry closed.
  • 8 Place each pastry seam-side down onto a large greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • 9 Enjoy!

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

These are nearly impossible to make neatly, so don't worry if they look messy while prepping. They will still bake beautifully. Also, the more seasoning the better - they tend to bland while baking.

We had Bierocks often when I was in school. I still make them today. I added shredded smoked gouda to mime...AWESOME! I will also make sausage, egg and cheese or pizza ones. The kids LOVE them. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

My family ate these all the time when we were overseas. I added a little Mrs Dash seasoning to it. Overall we really enjoyed them. Might try changing up the ingredients to see what different kinds we can come up with. :-) We will definitely be enjoying them again!

My family is very picky and they liked these. Can substitute beef for sausage or ground turkey. Not one of our favorites but it is something we will eat again! Good man food!
