These were extremely simple to make, and the end result was very pleasing. I recommend using plenty of sugar on the bottom of the glass when pressing the dough on the sheet, as it will add to the final flavor when they come out of the oven. Thanks for the wonderful and simple recipe!

to Newnum and others, unless you dislike nutmeg regardless, you might try adding it and substituting almond extract for the vanilla. the combo of nutmeg and almond is very good indeed!

Yummy Christmas cookies so easy to bake, my 5 year old granddaughter can make these! I plan on making several batches for my family, co-workers and neighbors for holiday giving. Instead of flattening the cookies with the bottom of a glass jar dipped in sugar, I used my colored sugar and I sprinkled on top of the cookies and they turned out beautiful. These are great cookies for the holidays or for eating throughout the year. Enjoy and Merry Christmas!

This are great! The only thing I will do different is to take out the nutmeg, it gives it a funny taste.

Good and easy cookies.Ive made them a few times now. I found that unless you use real butter and good vanilla, they are bland. But the real butter and vanilla make them amazing.

Did not have flour, only whole wheat flour. Used less than 2 cups, added dried cranberries and these cookies are amazing!

I made these yesterday and shared them with my work neighbors. One lady said she thought she had died and gone to heaven. These are the easiest cookies to make and they taste good. I rolled them in pastel colored sanding sugars before baking and they were beautiful.
