Seriously people... it's called BEER CHEESE Soup. It's not supposed to be fat free. Not everything we eat has to be healthy.... enjoy life before it's over. If it would make you feel better, make a salad to go with it! Thanks for the awesome recipes! I love them all!

Our family has enjoyed this soup for years! But...it's once a year-twice at the most so I don't fret about the contents. We always serve this for our evening meal on Christmas Eve after church. My kids expect it and now that some are grown they have shared the recipe with their friends. It holds well in the crock pot on low and just add more chicken broth to thin it if it becomes too thick. We have frozen this soup too - again thin it with broth as needed.

Just made this recipe for lunch. My daughter loves it. It is just a little thicker than I would like but that's easy to fix. At this consistency, it would be excellent on pasta.

Not sure where I went wrong with this recipe : ( I was really excited and it ended up tasting awful. A big waste of 2 lbs. of cheese and a beer! I may try this again to see if I can make it better. The popcorn on top did taste good.

Great soup! Everyone loved it! I added twice the carrots and onions to bring the vegetable content up and used low sodium chicken broth. Next time I will probably use only 3/4 cup of flour. It was a little thicker than what I like. I added the cheddar pretzels at the end and they were great. Thanks for a very tasty soup!

Just got finished making this. I also, am not a fan of beer. Despise the stuff, but it's not that bad in here. The kids both seem to like it. Made biscuits to go with it (I was in the mood for them) and popcorn for the top. Not bad.

This soup was delicious-I did substitue 2% milk for the cream. Very easy to make, with the beer taste not sure if children would love it, but the popcorn they would. will make again soon.

Fabulous! Suggestion for quick-mixing flour... if you don't have Wondra, take a small amount of the broth and mix it into some all-purpose flour to create a paste that will dissolve easily. Then continue with the recipe as written. Enjoy!

I read these for comments on taste and idea. Not personal opinion of ingredients and calorie counts. If you dont like the numbers or ingredients please just close the window.No comment necessary. They have a healthy food section or I would suggest trying a healthy food website. I would think it is common sense that you are usually not going to find healthy stuff on a Betty Crocker website. I try to practice moderation so I will take advice from my nutitionist before a recipe rate and review board. Some people may exercise moderation or not have to worry about things like that so your personal opinion is your choice and theirs is theirs.
