Beer and Bacon Mancakes
Nothing says manly-man food like a meal made of beer, bacon and pancakes. Stir candied bacon and your favorite beer into Bisquick to make these larger-than-life mancakes.

I made these for Fathers Day and they were a huge hit! I candied the bacon ahead as a previous reviewer suggested. That was a huge time saver- thanks for that suggestion. Be sure to use a beer that you like the flavor of because it does add to the flavor of the pancakes. Next time Im going to use cooked bacon (no sugar) and sharp cheddar. So easy & yummy!

Does the alcohol in the beer cook off? I'm sure my kids would love the idea of the candied bacon and my husband would flip over that and the beer, but I'm not sure if I should serve the beer pancakes to kids. Thoughts?

I still can't convince myself I like bacon THAT much, but you can never go wrong with beer pancakes, any hour of the day!! :) Not a fan of drinking beer, but anything made with beer is just that much better.

Made these the other night and turned out wonderful!!! I did double the recipe to make larger pancakes since it was a larger group of people :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING OUT OF THE ORDINARY, ESP FOR THE GUYS!!! I do recommend making the candied bacon ahead of time because it is very time consuming.

I wanted to make something different for my husband for Father's Day. Our favorite beer is Guinness so that is what we put in the batter. It was super yummy. But if you make it you might want to make extra candied bacon to put in it. MMmmmmmm!
