We thought this was very bland. It looks and sounds so good that I even tried it the second time with leftover chopped roast beef. When I used the chopped up roast, I had thicker noodles and I think these thickened it a little more.

I made this soup for dinner and my husband and I loved it. I will admit, I left out the red wine and added a rib of celery, clisced and one carrot. We really liked it a lot and I will definitely make it again.

Maybe it was the way I did this but I thought this was very bland and it was not really something we were fond of...we ate it but I wouldn't make it again.

It was a nice idea, however I don't think I would make it again. The noodles were way too mushy for my liking. My husband ate it and thought it was okay, but it definitely wasn't a huge hit at our house.

Thought it was nice but would recommend making only what would be used then not made for left overs as noodles get mushy fast.

Was very good. Tried it with ground chicken instead of ground beef. Used beef/chicken broth 'stead of water and doubled the mushrooms. (All suggestions from other reviewers.) It was wonderful. Froze the leftovers and several weeks later it was as good as the first night!

I tried this for the first time this week. My family loved it. I think next time I will double the recipe. This is a very thick and hearty soup that is very easy to make, even for me who really hates to cook and try new things.

This is my family's favorite soup!! We have made it at least once a month for the last 2 years. I like to vary the recipe by adding extra mushrooms, noodles, liquid (water or broth), and additional spices. We also use a variety of meats such as turkey, turkey sausage, and even ground venison. I never have to argue with the kids to eat this meal:).

The photo looks different than the actual soup, but was tasty and will make it again. I also added extra beef broth, noodles and frozen peas for more veggies. I served it with buttered crackers and was just as good the next day for lunch. I also substituted thyme for the basil.
