Directions

  • 1 Brown beef in 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally; drain.
  • 2 Stir in uncooked Pasta, Sauce Mix, hot water and beans. Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beans are tender.
  • 3 Remove from heat; cover and let stand about 5 minutes or until sauce is as thick as you'd like, (sauce will thicken as it stands). Sprinkle with cheese.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

The fat content of ground beef depends on the cut of meat it came from. Regular ground beef—made from less-expensive cuts—contains up to 30 percent fat. Moderately priced ground chuck contains just enough fat to give it flavor and make it juicy. The leanest (around 5 percent fat) is the most expensive and is made from round and sirloin cuts.

Of course you can use French-fried onions instead of the seasoned croutons!

I havent tried it with the veggies yet. If the hamburger helper seems a bit bland, you can add Herb Ox beef season (in packets). It has no sodium or MSG. I would only add 1/2 packet to start with and then add more to your taste if needed. I have used the Herb Ox and 1/2 the season that comes with in the Hamburger Helper box to cut down on the sodium. still tastes good. I will rate it 5 because it sounds very delicious.
