cup Sugar

cup Shortening

Eggs

cup Buttermilk

tsp Baking Soda (dissolved in buttermilk)

Very ripe mashed bananas

Tbsp Vanilla

cups Flour
  1. With an electric mixer, blend the sugar, shortening, eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, vanilla, and bananas.
  2. Gradually add flour and blend well.
  3. Pour mixture into a greased and floured bread loaf pan, ( about 9" x 5" )
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes.
