  • 3 Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until edge of crust is light brown. Immediately sprinkle with cheese.

EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Try sharp Cheddar cheese—instead of the mozzarella—for a different flavor experience.

Honey crystallizes when refrigerated, forming a gooey, grainy mess. Store honey instead in an airtight container in a dry place at room temperature for up to a year.

Next time you roast a turkey, bone it, cut up the meat and freeze in 1 1/2-cup portions. Then you can thaw out the turkey for recipes such as this one!

Used bottled bbq sauce to save time. Added a little bit of Gouda cheese to the mozzarella and baked with the cheese on it instead of adding after baking. (A small bit of Gouda is part of the recipe for the similar tasting restaurant style BBQ Chicken Pizza so I thought it would help here). However, we didn't care much for the crust. It was not like a pizza crust or like a bread. Was definitely biscuit-y tasting. This does not make 4 servings unless you're serving small children. It was a good serving for 2 adults, with a salad on the side.

Desperate for something quick that my kids would like, I tried this recipe. I used precooked packaged turkey pieces and bottled BBQ sauce because I feared the chili sauce might be too spicy for my kids. We all loved it!!! I considered it a brillant way to make chicken or turkey more interesting. It certainly was easy to make.
