To wilson65, I've never written a review but I saw your post and wanted to share:) I hope you get it and it helps. I believe I have the recipe you're referring to for the previous version of BC's Banana Split Cake. I deviate from the recipe a little but this is how it was posted. It's our family fav also. In fact I'm making it today. My youngest son is 2 today:) 1 box Betty Crocker SuperMoist white cake mix Water, vegetable oil and whole eggs called for on cake mix box 1 cup mashed bananas (2 medium) 3/4 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips 1 container (1 lb) Betty Crocker Rich & Creamy chocolate frosting 1. Heat oven to 350 f (325 f for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 13x9-inch pan with shortening or cooking spray. In large bowl, beat cake mix, water, oil, eggs and mashed bananas on low speed 30 seconds; beat on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in chocolate chips. Pour into pan. 2. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool 15 minutes. 3. In small microwavable bowl, microwave frosting uncovered on high 20 seconds; stir and add an additional 5 to 10 seconds, if necessary. Stir thoroughly or until very soft and smooth; spread evenly over cake. If desired, serve with banana slices, whipped topping, Betty Crocker rainbow mix decorating decors and a cherry. Store loosely covered.

The original banana split cake that I saved is not the one pictured. Mine had whipped cream on top and was totally different. I need mine back! This was a family favorite.

Okay so here's what you need to do! 3 -3 1/2 bananas instead of 2 and Add a package of banana instead pudding.. I used peanut butter cups (mashed). Came out delicious!

John didn't like the cake, but everyone else did. So I'll give it three out of five.

I used peanut butter chips, fluffy vanilla frosting, and baked it in two round pans. I accidentally used three egg whites instead of whole eggs, which might be the reason for it being too crumbly. However, my son and husband loved it. Next time I will use peanut butter frosting on the outside and a chocolate cream moose (sp?) in the middle.

i made this cake today except i substituted the white cake mix for banana cake mix (not Betty Crocker, according to the site there isn't a Betty Crocker banana cake mix). I kept everything else the same, and it came out really good. Next time I might try it with the white cake mix, but i really liked it this way. My one complaint is that it doesn't rise very well.

I was disappointed with this cake. I was looking for a quick banana cake since my traditional one is so time consuming. I thought the cake was very moist but very bland. I doubt I will be making this again. Nothing like banana bread like the description suggests.
