Made this tonight for dinner and my family loved it! I did add more bacon than recipe called for. Didn't look like the 5 strips recipe called for would cover the top. We will be making this recipe again soon! I think I may try salami with turkey next time for a more spicy flavor.

I made it basically from the directions except I put ham on one half(partner not fond of turkey) and turkey on the other half. I read the reviews that said it was a little dry so I added about 3 Tblsp salsa on top of the meats. Very good. There was not enough salsa to make it soggy but added plenty of moisture and flavor, not to much though. Will make again with other choices in the center.

This was great way to use up leftovers from our tradional cheese/meat trays served on Christmas eve. It can be bland if made by recipe, you need to change it up a bit. I added some seasoning to he dough mixture. I used turkey, ham and a thin layer of mild tasting cheese (I used baby swiss leftover from meat tray)you could use whatever your familys favorite cheese is. I also added a thin layer of raspberry jam in the filling. Again you can use whatever you family favorite is sounds strange I know but added just a slight sweetness to the sandwich) I will make again using a pepper relish added to filling. Before serving a very thin dusting of powdered sugar. I made two one with seasoning/jam, one without. Both were gone in minutes. Try you will enjoy.
