I don't have a doughnut pan so I made them into scones, and they came out delicious! I didn't have the pumpkin pie spice or maple syrup, so I used brown sugar in place of the syrup and extra cinnamon for the spice, then I baked them on a cookie sheet for about 10 minutes or so. If you let them sit for a while before eating the pumpkin flavor intensifies. I'm going to make them again today with most of the intended ingredients, but I will add just a bit more sugar and pumpkin. Overall I thought it was a great recipe!

The recipe looked so good I had to try it. I was disappointed. They didn't have much flavor. I had to add to the recipe like previous reviewers. These are such a good idea and simple I wish Betty Crocker would retest this recipe and make corrections.

I was a little skeptical after reading the first two reviews and almost did not try this recipe. After deciding to go through with it, I followed the recipe as written, step by step. The dough was not lumpy as the other reviews stated. The dough was a sticky doughy consistency as I assume it should be. The only thing that I did differently: I do not have a doughnut pan and decided to make scones instead. They turned out delicious! I will be making this recipe again as well as the other doughnut recipes that are similar.

If you follow this recipe as it is written, you will be sadly disappointed. I did, & ended up with a dry lumpy mess. It almost seems like several ingredients were left out of the original recipe. So I added to the batter: 1 egg, about another 1/3 c milk, 2T additional pumpkin,6T sugar & 2tsp cinnamon. By making these changes, my doughnuts turned out ok although still could use more spice. I like making mini-doughnuts but I won't use this recipe again.

Not sure what went wrong here but these came out to be lumpy messes. It felt wrong while I was mixing the batter -not nearly enough liquid in the recipe to make these conform to a donut pan while baking. Mine look like a baseball with a scone texture. Taste is ok -a bit "bisquicky" and not sweet enough. I should have added 2 tbsp of maple syrup instead of one. Oh well...good concept, porr results.
