We added chopped bacon to waffles and topped them off with fresh sliced strawberries and chocolate flavored syrup for an unbelievable sweet and savory twist on this Sunday brunch favorite.
cups Original Bisquick™ mix
tablespoons vegetable oil
slices bacon, crisply cooked, chopped
cup sliced fresh strawberries
cup chocolate-flavor syrup
Heat waffle maker; grease with shortening or vegetable oil (or spray with cooking spray before heating). In large bowl, stir together Bisquick mix, milk, egg, oil and bacon until blended. Pour 3/4 cup batter onto center of hot waffle maker. Close lid of waffle maker.
Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle. Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve waffles with strawberries and chocolate syrup.
Add chopped walnuts, almonds or pecans to the batter for some crunch.
For a little extra decadence, also drizzle waffles with caramel topping.
