cups uncooked penne pasta (about 6 oz)

pouch (9 oz) Progresso™ Recipe Starters™ creamy three cheese cooking sauce
8
slices (3/4 oz each) American cheese, diced (6 ounces)
1
bag (3 oz) cooked real bacon pieces or bits

Progresso™ Italian style panko crispy bread crumbs

  • 1 Cook and drain pasta as directed on package; keep warm.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan, heat cooking sauce to boiling, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; stir in cheese until melted. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the bacon; set aside. Stir in pasta and remaining bacon. If necessary, cook over medium heat until thoroughly heated, stirring occasionally. Mix reserved bacon with bread crumbs; sprinkle over pasta.

Expert Tips

Oven Directions: Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 2-quart casserole with cooking spray. Prepare as directed. After adding pasta and bacon to cheese sauce, spoon pasta mixture into sprayed casserole. Bake uncovered 20 to 25 minutes or until hot in center. Sprinkle with bread crumb mixture as directed in recipe.

Serve with French baguette.
