Bacon Apple Cheddar Toasts
Yummy Fall Appy!
slices Bacon Cooked, drained & crumbled (reserve drippings)
Cups apples peeled & finely chopped (about 3)
teaspoon gingeroot grated
cups brown sugar
tablespoon Fresh thyme leaves
tablespoon apple juice
slices French Bread cut in 1/2" slices
tablespoon olive oil
cups shredded cheddar cheese
cook apples & gingeroot in drippings until lightly brown & soft. Stir in brown sugar, thyme & salr. Cool
Heat over to 450 degrees. Place bread slices in single layer on ungreased cookie shee & brush with oil. Bake until toasted approximately 5 minutes. Turn, brush other side & bake 5 more minutes.
Add cheese & bacon to cooked apples. Put approxmiately 1 Tablespoon on each toast slice and bake 5 minutes until cheese is melted. Serve hot.
