Ingredients

1 1/2: lb bulk pork sausage

1: can (21 oz) apple pie filling with more fruit

2: medium apples, peeled, chopped (about 2 cups)

2: cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese (8 oz)

1 1/2: cups Original Bisquick® mix

1 1/2: cups milk

1/4: teaspoon salt

1/8: teaspoon pepper

6: eggs

Directions

1 Heat oven to 375°F. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with cooking spray.
2 In 12-inch skillet, cook sausage over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until no longer pink; drain. Stir in pie filling and apples. Spread mixture evenly in baking dish. Top with 1 cup of the cheese.
3 In large bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk, salt, pepper and eggs with wire whisk or fork until blended. Pour evenly over cheese.
4 Bake 30 to 37 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Top with remaining 1 cup cheese. Bake 3 to 5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

We had this for breakfast this morning and we thought it was yummy delicious! I made it with hot sausage. This added just the right amount of spice. The casserole was not too sweet as someone stated and maybe that was because of the hot spicy sausage. We thought it was the perfect mixture of flavorings. I'm sure I will make it again and again! Thanks for the recipe.

Entirely too much apple going on....using the fresh apples with a light sprinkle of sugar is sufficient....anyway, who likes their scrambled eggs sweet?

Very good. Did not use pie filling as that sounded too sweet and gooey. I only used one chopped apple and cooked with maple flavored sausage. I would use two apples next time.
