Expert Tips

Drizzle with a glaze made by mixing 1/2 cup powdered sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons milk until smooth and thin enough to drizzle.

A kuchen is a fruit- or cheese-filled yeast-raised cake, usually served for breakfast but also enjoyed as a dessert. It originated in Germany. We've simplified the traditional yeast-raised kuchen by using Bisquick to make a delicious crust.

I thought it tasted okay. I don't really know what it was missing. I thought is was a bit dry and cakey. The crust was nothing special. However, it was very easy to make. Maybe with peaches, it may taste different. Will try others.

I made this coffee cake yesterday. When I took it out of the oven, it looked lovely and I was very anxious to taste it. However, I was very disappointed with it as the cake was extremely dry. I don't plan to make this again.

I made two batches of this, one with apples and one with peaches. Both turned out fantastic!
