The recipe for Apple Dumplings was available free in Gold Medal flour bags, as noted in a 1938 advertisement, and has also been included in many of the company’s cookbooks over the years, beginning with the 1904 Christmas Edition of Gold Medal Flour Cook Book.

My love of cooking & baking began early. I used to have to stand on a chair to reach the counter. This was one of the first of many recipes that I made from my Mothers' Betty Crocker Recipe book. It turned out fabulous! If a 7 year old could make this anyone can! Thank you Betty for preserving the old recipes.

Tried this recipe for my first time ever making apple dumplings, it was a hit!! Very easy and very tasteful! Woould recommend for anyone to try. Family loved them so much, they asked me to make them again only 2 days later, with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream!!

Great recipe. Nice flakey dough and tender apples are the best components of this recipe. They are especially good when warm. I skip the nuts, raisins and brown sugar syrup, and sprinkle the apple with some cinnamon and sugar before wrapping in the dough. They are good eating with sugar and milk or with vanilla ice cream. I even remember occasionally having them for dinner growing up.

What a great oldie-but-goodie kind of like myself lol. Seriously this is a recipe that I hae had in the past and is one that needs to be brought up again. I use various fruits instead of the raisins ie dried fruit. Apple dumplings are one of those old favorites that when made now a days you'll be a big hit at the table.
