I sprinkle orange juice on the apples. And I cut in the ingredients using a pastry blender. My family has always loved this. For a change, I use cardamon as the spice.

Can anyone tell me if it makes a significant difference using salted or unsalted butter? Also, when doubling the recipe, do you recommend doubling everything? I have a big family wanting this for Christmas dessert!
