Apple-Cheese Oven Pancake

cup shredded Cheddar cheese (1 oz)

  • 1 Heat oven to 450ºF. Spray 13x9-inch baking dish with cooking spray. In medium bowl, beat flour, milk, salt and eggs with wire whisk until smooth; pour into baking dish. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until puffy and golden brown.
  • 2 Meanwhile, in 10-inch nonstick skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Cook apples and chives in butter, stirring frequently, until apples are tender. Stir in sugar.
  • 3 Spoon apple mixture onto pancake. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake about 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted.

Tips

Expert Tips

Be sure to work quickly when making the apple filling so it's ready when the pancake is done baking. The pancake deflates when it comes out of the oven.

Don't like cheese with apples? Skip the chives and cheese, and instead sprinkle the apples with cinnamon and sugar.
