EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

If you don’t want the chunks of apple, use shredded apple instead.

If you have a white or yellow cake mix on hand, you can use it and add some ground cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Or a bit of pumpkin pie spice.

These look lovely & great for Fall! I do feel a bit dumb though.. how is the cake mix able to become dough? Are you using less liquid? I'm a cake baker so i can't stop thinking "How can this be dough?" :) Thank you for any feedback!

These cookies have a very good flavor, but don't harden once they come out of the oven. They are very soft and cake-like. My kids liked them and ate them up. I used vanilla frosting instead of cream cheese frosting because my son has a dairy allergy and can eat these cookies with a frosting switch.
