This dish was soooo good!! I did make a few small changes after reading the other reviews. I kept the apple and syrup mixture as is but used 1/2 the amount of sausage. Also, for the pancake mixture, I only used 2tbs of brown sugar and added a little cinnamon and vanilla. Then, instead of the 13x9 pan, I used an 11x7 glass baking dish. Since I was using the glass dish, I baked the pancake at 325 instead of 350. It turned out perfect! My husband ate 3 helpings and kept saying how good it was!

I thought that this dish was MUCH too sweet--I still like the general idea, but if I make it again will leave out the brown sugar, add some cinnamon and nutmeg to the apples, and possibly add some grated cheddar cheese with the cooked sausage. Actually, now that I read this, I think it's turning into an Impossible Pie instead!)

I will be making this one again. Next time a little less brown sugar - I still have a sugar high. I used Nurnburger Bratwurstchens (little brat wursts) since pork sausage is unavailable here in France. They are very simular so it worked well. I also reduced the recipe to feed 2 people.

This was really easy and good. I used hot sausage and two apples rather than one. The additional syrup was not necessary- it was very sweet! I will definitely make this again.

I made this for a work breakfast and everyone loved it. I used hot sausage and next time, I may increase the Bisquik mixture slightly since the sausage seemed to overwhelm the pancake a bit.

These are awesome. I used 1 1/2 apples and put nutmeg and cinnamon on them. Also, I used sugar free syurp instead of real maple syurp. If you are using real syurp you will need to omit some of the brown sugar. They are plenty sweet. To make them faster cook your sausage the night before. These are definatly a family favorite, even for our 2 year old!

I was out of sausage, so I just covered the bottom of the pan with thinly sliced apples, then sprinkled them with cinnamon and nutmeg. I also left out the brown sugar - couldn't see the need for that much sweet, and we never missed it. My family loved it! Would probably be good with ham instead of sausage, also.
