My sister made this cake for her daughter's 21st birthday. We are a family of good cooks and we were astounded with this delicious cake. Everyone raved about it and we were thrilled to find out that it's a much simpler recipe than the one handed down by our grandmother. Definitely a winner recipe!!!!

This is a great recipe. I was making ice cream for the 4th and had two dozen egg whites left over so decided to use some of them and make this cake to take along. I haven't made angel food cake for 30 years. The cake turned out perfect and I made a lemon glaze for the top. The cake was more of a hit than the ice cream! Highly recommend this recipe.
