I took a chance and brought these to a party after making them for the first time. It's really rich, but got rave reviews! One friend made me promise to make them for her birthday next month! I didn't have time to hunt for macadamia nuts, so I used walnuts instead. Still yummy. Next time I will use the macadamia nuts.

These were fantastic! I couldn't find vanilla baking chips so I put a cup of milk chocolate bits and a cup of white chocolate bits. They were delicious! I brought them to a party and they disappeared. The coconut was not overpowering at all for those that are skeptical of coconut. Great recipe. I put them in the fridge and then cut them the next day. My only complaint was that after the refrigeration part they were hard to cut. Worth it tho!

This was good, I think my pan was to small causing all the layers on top of the cookie to be much thicker then intendid. I was really looking forward to trying this recipe but when it was done I didnt find it that great. I belive if i tried it again which Im going to do I will like it much better knowing what I did wrong. Pretty good overall.

This recipe is definitely a family favorite now! Easy to make and everyone loves it. The macadamias are a little difficult to find here, so I stock up when I can find them. I'm anxious to try using canned pineapple tidbits or crushed pineapple, well-drained (as mentioned in other comments), instead of using the dried pineapple. A definite "keeper"!

These were good. I thought there was a little to many choco chips though.

Mmmmmm... so yummy. Made these bars for the first time for mother's day. My mom loved them and thought it was so sweet because it was like a gift in itself since I specifically picked this recipe since she loves coconut, LOVES Hawaii, and isn't a big chocolate fan. We took them to a big family dinner and they were a huge hit! The plate was empty at the end of the night. Only difference was I used canned pineapple tidbits as suggested in previous reviews and patted them dry with paper towels. YUMMY!!
