Ingredients

1: pound lean ground beef

1: cup chopped onion

2: tablespoons chili powder

2: teaspoons ground cumin

1 1/2: teaspoons garlic salt

1/2: teaspoon oregano leaves

1: can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained

1: can (14 1/2 oz) petite diced tomatoes

1: can (8 oz) tomato sauce

Directions

1 Cook ground beef and onion in large pot on medium-high heat until beef is no longer pink, stirring occasionally. Drain fat, if needed.
2 Stir in spices and remaining ingredients. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
3 Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream and chopped onion, if desired.

I like this; I just finished making this for lunch/dinner to last for the next couple of days. It's nice and quick to make. I've made chili many times before, so I figured that this recipe would be good too. I don't have any cumin (I need to buy some) and am not a fan of diced tomatoes, but I had everything else. I also made some steamed rice to go along with it. I'll add cheddar cheese and a diced red or orange pepper on top tomorrow.
