So delicious! It took me back to my childhood when I lived in Lima, Peru and could buy these pretty much anywhere. Great Recipe!

The cookies by themselves are great, but when you put the Dulce de Leche on them and the coconut all I can say after that is WOW!! I did half of them in sandwiches and the other half just a single cookie with dulce de leche on top then I lightly pressed them face down in the coconut. Both ways were delicious.

Made these cookies from heaven for a church meeting. Rave reviews. My husband hates coconut, but loved the cookie. These are a must have at any cookie exchange.

I made these last night as part of our holiday cookie baking and they are fabulous! Really easy, too, considering how pretty and yummy they are. We did go through the entire can of Dulche de Leche and need to pick some more up today in order to finish our cookies. I'd suggest buying to cans because you really need the 2 tsp of filling for each cookie.

Dulce de Leche (caramelized sweetened condensed milk) is available at Wal-Mart in the Hispanic Section. It is made by Nestle and it's called La Lechera.

My 12 year old made these cookies for a homework assignment. When I picked her up from school, she said that the boys had stolen all her leftover cookies! I received several e-mails from moms wanting to know what kind of cookies my daughter had taken to school because their kids went home and said they were the best cookies they had ever had! They are very easy to make and I highly recommend them for your child's Spanish class assignment.

I looked up Eagle Brand milk online. They make a carmelized sweetened condensed milk called "Magnolia." It is not available in all areas. In the Eagle Brand site, it is possible to check according to your zip code, if Magnolia is available near where you live.
