I honestly liked this recipe the next day better...the flavors just seemed to mix together better. But all in all...this was a quick and easy dessert that hit the spot when we wanted something warm and yummy. I would make it again.

here's a recipe for fresh blueberry compote:Ingredients 2 cups frozen blueberries 3 tablespoons water 1/4 cup sugar 2 teaspoons lemon juice Directions Combine 1 cup of the blueberries, water, sugar and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Cook over a medium heat for about 10 minutes. Add the rest of the blueberries and cook for 8 minutes more, stirring frequently. Serve warm. USE INSTEAD OF CANNED BLUEBERRY FILLING. Adust to your liking.

Yes I agree with the Fresh or frozen adaptation...please. Canned blueberries are easy but too sweet and expensive vs frozen.

Would love to figure out how to make this with fresh or frozen blueberries, the canned filling has too much sugar in it.

This is a definite saver. We love the fruit cobler/crisp dessert with pie fillings. My old crisp recipe is no longer an option since I cannot get the single layer cake mix I always used anymore. This one will probably be less caloric too. I'm sending this one on to the kids. They, too, are in need of the recipe.
