Warm Cinnamon-Orange Cider

As if by magic, the cinnamon candies melt, giving this spiced cider a rosy glow.

1/2bottle (64-ounce size) apple cider
2cups orange juice
2tablespoons red cinnamon candies
1 1/2teaspoons whole allspice
1tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons honey
1.Heat apple cider, orange juice, candies and allspice to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
2.Remove allspice. Stir in honey. Serve warm.

Allspice is also known as Jamaica pepper. These dried berries got their name because they taste like a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
Success
Be sure to buy whole allspice berries instead of ground. You can put them in a tea ball or tie them up in a piece of cheesecloth for easy removal.
