Turkey Sausage Quiche

Press a Bisquick® mix crust in a pie plate, fill it with a quick-mix egg filling, and you'll have an oven-ready quiche.

1 1/4cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/4cup butter or margarine, softened
2tablespoons boiling water
1cup shredded Italian-style cheese blend (4 oz)
1cup cooked turkey sausage
4medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)
1 1/2cups half-and-half
3eggs
1teaspoon chopped fresh basil leaves
1/4teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)

Total Time: 2 hours 10 min
1.Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray. In small bowl, stir Bisquick mix and butter until blended. Add boiling water; stir vigorously until soft dough forms. Press dough on bottom and up side of pie plate, forming edge on rim of pie plate.
2.Sprinkle cheese, sausage and onions over crust. In small bowl, beat half-and-half and eggs with fork or wire whisk; stir in basil and red pepper. Pour into crust.
3.Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Decrease butter to 2 tablespoons. Bake 38 to 42 minutes.
Make the Most of This Recipe
Substitution
Cooked Italian sausage can be substituted for the turkey sausage.
Variation
For Ham and Cheese Quiche, use 1 cup chopped Canadian-style bacon and 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese in place of the turkey sausage and Italian-style cheese blend. Omit the basil, too.
