Mushroom-Herb Stuffing

Move over, croutons. Here's a flavorful and delicious stuffing based on cereal!

2eggs, slightly beaten
1 3/4cups Progresso® chicken broth (from 32-oz carton)
1package (0.9 oz) spring vegetable-flavored soup mix
2tablespoons dried chopped onion
1 1/2teaspoons poultry seasoning
1can (4 oz) Green Giant® mushroom pieces and stems, drained
9cups Corn Chex® or Rice Chex® cereal (or combination)

Total Time: 1 hour 50 min
1.Heat oven to 350°F. Spray with cooking spray or grease 2-quart casserole.
2.In large bowl, mix all ingredients in order listed, stirring just until cereal begins to soften. Spread in casserole.
3.Cover and bake 50 minutes. Or if desired, use as stuffing for poultry or pork.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): No changes.
Make the Most of This Recipe
Variation
For sausage stuffing, cook and drain a 12-ounce package of bulk pork sausage, and stir into stuffing ingredients just before adding cereal.
