Chex® Holiday Cutouts

11cups Rice Chex®, Corn Chex®, Honey Nut Chex® or Frosted Chex® cereal
1bag (16 oz) large marshmallows (about 72)
1/2cup butter or margarine
Betty Crocker® Rich & Creamy or Whipped vanilla frosting, if desired
Candy-coated chocolate candies, if desired
1.Butter 15x10x1-inch pan. Coarsely crush cereal. (To easily crush cereal, place in plastic bag or between sheets of waxed paper, and crush with rolling pin.)
2.In large microwavable bowl, microwave marshmallows and butter uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes, stirring each minute, until mixture is smooth. Stir in crushed cereal. Using buttered back of spoon or hands, press firmly in pan. Cool completely, about 15 minutes.
3.Cut into shapes with 2 1/2- to 3-inch holiday cutters (such as Fourth of July flag or star, Halloween pumpkin or ghost, Christmas tree or snowman, Hanukkah dreidel or star, Easter egg or bunny, etc.). Decorate with frosting and candies.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Increase microwave time to about 3 minutes.

The frosting can be colored using either liquid or paste food colors, but the paste will result in colors that are more intense.
Simplify
For Fast Track Snack Squares, make as directed except do not cut into shapes. After pressing cereal mixture in pan, melt 1/4 cup butter and 1 bag (12 oz) semisweet chocolate chips (2 cups) in microwavable bowl uncovered on High 1 minute 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds. Spread evenly over cereal mixture. Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours or until set. Cut into 24 squares.
