Tanya2100 is completely correct, I did as Food for Dolphins suggested and "googled" it and they are the same, but only a language root difference. (see wikipedia for details) This recipe was made for a recent dinner party where foodies were served with experience from all over the world. They found it to be almost exactly as it is served in the Mediterranean. The only difference was that mine was a bit more mealy than usually made, but I like that texture, so it was my choice. (it hangs on the cracker/bread/pita better.) If you compare this to the commercial chain store bought item , your comparing apples and oranges. I compared mine to a local mom and pop that make it fresh in the store and it was nearly perfect...but SO MUCH CHEAPER.
