"I love this recipe as I love caramel on ice cream. I have made it a bit different though. Instead of 1 cup of the light corn syrup, I use 1/2 corn syrup this prevents the caramel from separating when it cools down. I increase the butter by 3 additional tablespoons. Lastly, instead of whipping cream(because we don't always have that in the house), I use ice cream but I reduce it to approximately 1/2 cup and it comes out great. It's fast and easy to make. I have even made this and canned it for Christmas gifts around the holidays. Canning is ok as long as you put the sauce in the jars hot so as it cools it seals the jar and then it is safe for the shelf until the jar is open and then refrigerate after you open the jar. Enjoy."
