"I am in my 50s and have been making this cake since I was 5 years old back in Houston. No, it isn't missing any secret ingredient and it does not require cinnamon. This recipe is the one. Make it just as it says. The frosting is supposed to be real thick like fudge candy, hence the massive amount of powdered sugar. Do not use margarine, or any other substitutes. I tried making it vegan once and it was terrible. You have to use the old school ingredients to get it right. Also, I have always used pecan halves in the frosting rather than chips. This is my favorite cake in the world, but since it is so unhealthy when made correctly, I don't eat it often."

"I don't know where you live that you can find the coconut yogurt listed, but I used Yoplait Pina Colada and it was great. Had a few little chunks of pineapple in it. Also, I don't like snow peas so I used regular peas. I will make this again. "

"I made this vegan with soy milk and cheese and it came out wonderful. Very creamy and textured just right with Japanese Panko breadcrumbs. I know there are probably not a lot of vegans on this site (it is Betty Crocker after all) but if you want to spare your arteries and waistline, try it vegan. I peel my potatoes because I don't like any kind of potato dish with the peel on. Excellent recipe."
