"This recipe is correct. I have been making these since I was a little girl, and I am now a mother of 5. The mixture is very stiff, so I use my hands to mix. The fat from the sausage, the cheeses and the fat in the bisquick add to the milk to moisten the mixture during cooking. This recipe is very forgiving, and very adjustable to suit your own taste. Use a sharp cheese or a mild cheese. Sometimes I add 2 Tablespoons of real maple syrup for a change of pace, and use mild cheddar. Other times I add smokey paprika and ground red pepper. You can use maple sausage, regular sausage or even spicey sausage. I have even used Javelina sausage. The point is, have fun with this, and make it your own! "
