Italian Sausage Lasagna (lighter recipe)
I've made this (lighter recipe) and the regular recipe and both taste pretty much the same. They both taste great!
For extra kick, I put about a tablespoon of roasted red pepper in the sauce. The cheese balances everything out.
Remember, if you're going to deviate from the recipe, you have to understand how cooking works. To wit, I've used no-boil noodles, but made sure I had extra sauce. Be sure to cover all exposed noodles with the sauce so that they cook. You should "baste" the noddles in the middle to ensure that the noodles are cooking.
