Herbed Salisbury Mushroom Steaks
I didn't have any "egg product" so made this without it, had the "soggy" problem other people describe. I got sidetracked so the steaks simmered for 10-15 minutes longer than called for in the recipe and they firmed up. My thought is the mushrooms lose a lot of water as they cook, and that is what is causing the sogginess. I look forward to trying this recipe again with the addition of onions as others have done. I will simmer uncovered to let the water from the mushrooms and onions boil off.
