"I made this dish last night for my husband and I. I doubled the recipe just to make sure we had enough. I used one box of regular Au Gratin potatoes and one box of three cheese Au Gratin potatoes and I used fresh broccoli that I blanched before adding to the dish. I must say this was a really good meal that I will certainly make again. I followed the recipe exactly and it was delicious. I am a gourmet cook and usually spend quite a bit of time in the kitchen. It is nice to come across a recipe such as this that is quick, easy and very tasty. After reading some of the reviews, it is a must that you add the salsa. I used Herdez brand "hot" salsa which really added a nice "kick" to the meal. I read a comment about using a chunky salsa because one reviewer said their salsa made the dish too soupy, so I slightly strained my salsa in order to avoid that. The dish came out creamy and very flavorful. I will definitely make this meal again and I recommend it for a quick weeknight dinner."

"After reading about a handful of reviews on this recipe, I decided to go ahead and try it. I too, found it hard to find the exact blend of frozen veggies as the recipe called for. I ended up with a blend of red, green and yellow bell pepper and onion and then I bought some fresh mushrooms to add. I didn't add any broccoli. I followed the recipe as written. I found the meal good, although I have two opinions in regards to other comments saying the sauce was runny and needed thickening. One, if you don't use the heavy cream, you won't get the thick sauce. Two, using the frozen vegetables, thawed, will also make it runny. There is so much water in the frozen veggies that I thought the sauce was a little thinner than if you were to use fresh veggies. I thought it had good flavor, but I would use some additional spices to enhance the flavor a bit more. I will make this again, but I will use fresh vegetables and saute them with the chicken and then follow the recipe after that. This is an easy recipe that is good, but I am more of a gourmet cook and like a little more flavor in my meals. Overall, a good, quick meal that is worth making again."
