"I have made this many times and my husband loves it. Not sure what you are having a problem with. Are you pouring the boiling water on top? I do use 3 apples as I like more fruit, but mine does not turn out doughy and the caramel sauce on the bottom is delish. Someone mentioned 'putting the crumb mix on top and bottom'. The bisquick does not come out crumbly. It should be a spreadable dough. Great recipe! (also, I diced my apples for easy cutting)"

"My husband just loves this dessert. I have made it numerous times and I cut back on the sugar and increase the cinnamon. Still plenty sweet and my husband likes it more tart and loves cinnamon! I also use the lower fat bisquick. Also delicious with ice cream."

"I make meat loaves into single serving size, bake them and freeze individually. That way in the morning I can pull out of the freezer what I need for dinner at night and it works out great. I do the same with lasagna and it is so nice to have dinners"

"I used a small bone-in pork roast (I have a small crock pot) and added 1 bottle of Heinz chili sauce. Cooked on low about 4 hours and it was very tender and tasty. Made great pork sandwiches with the leftovers."

These are an excellent little appetizer. I like them topped with chives also. Also good with wasabi added to the sour cream.
