French Apple Dessert
I prepared this today. It turned out well.
I substituted the milk with buttermilk and used one-half lightly packed brown and one-half white sugar for the filling. I also opted out of the nuts, but scattered 1/2 cup of raisins on the apples. It turned out excellent!
My preference is to slice the apples as seen in the photo, and not to "thinly slice" them as the recipe suggests.

I haven't made these in years, but I just made the recipe tonight (from the side of the box) and they turned out great (2 1/4 C Bisquik, plus 2/3 C milk). Instead of rolling them, I just patted them between my hands and put them in a cast iron skillet in the oven until they were golden brown. When I took the biscuits out of the oven, I topped them with a very small amount of butter. Yum! They were great!
