Do-Ahead Garlic Mashed Potatoes
This is my go-to holiday mashed potato recipe. It's easy to assemble and cook, reheats well, and is full of garlicky goodness. What more could I ask of mashed potatoes? (As another reviewer noted, it is very important to allow your chilled dish to sit out for a bit before putting it in your hot oven, because it may shatter otherwise).

Slow-Cooker Fire Roasted Tomato Pot Roast
My family was underwhelmed by this recipe. The meat was tender and the vegetables were delicious, but the gravy lacked flavor beyond a mild beefiness. It needed wine and herbs.

Curried Pumpkin-Vegetable Soup
I thought this was very good and easy. I did use an extra teaspoon of curry powder and bloomed the curry and paprika with the sauteed onions before adding the other ingredients. Would I make this again? Definitely.

Zesty Beef and Noodle Vegetable Soup
This was a quick and easy rainy day recipe. As I was using sodium free bouillon, I cooked the beef with minced garlic and shallots to add more depth of flavor.

Veal with Asparagus
While the vegetables were perfect, the veal seemed overcooked and the whole dish was a bit bland. If I were to make this again, I would cook the veal less, double the garlic, shallots, and thyme and include liberal amounts of fresh ground salt and pepper.
