"These apples were made even better by stuffing a few dried cranberries in the apples and scattering them around. It gave then a richer flavor, and a slight dusting of cinnamon after they came out, helped, as does basting, you can cook in microwave for 6-10 min on high, depending on size of apples, Oh, when I do in micro, I cute them in half, tho*!*"

"YUM CITY*!* TUCSON, AZ loves these cookies, so far one dozen even of friends have begged this recipe from me! I was only too happy to turn most of my pals onto this fabulous website, as well as having written recipes for those w/out computers*!* I like to use my Life Mbrs. Cooking Club of America's recipe cards for these, all info fits on those*!* I'm with the gal who uses 3/4 cup of each ingredient, I prefer the taste of a bit of cookie; but when my sister, LEK, comes from Bangkok, Thailand, I make them the original way! She simply loves Pistachios*!* Thanks again for another grand cookie delight** "

"I made it just as recipe says for my hubby, since he Loves Blue Cheese. Not I!!! So for mine, I added cheddar cheese and put a wee bit of BBQ sauce on the bun, which I toasted them all first! They both came out great, not everyone like blue cheese, so this is another way to enjoy this spiffy recipe!! GOOD LUCK & ENJOY!!! RSB in Tucson, AZ"

Golden Pound Cake

"This is the easiest pound cake I've ever made. I've made dozens out of different cook books. I think I've bought maybe 1 or 2 ever. Once I realized, by making the first one, how simple pound cake is, I never went back to the store for any! I think y'all know just what I'm saying. But THIS ONE, is the simplest of them all, whips up in no time! For the fine lady who had a bit of dryness on sides and bottom, here's a couple "Homemade Tips" 1)Use a different pan, especially if you are using glass, switch to a dark, HEAVY one. 2) Put a thin sheet on the rack below the cake 3) Have your oven calibrated!!!! Always remember this= the heavier the pan, the lighter the cake! Don't ask me why, it just works! Any comments on that?? PLEASE Best Wishes, RSB in Tucson, AZ"

"These are super easy and so delicious! Self-rising flour already has baking soda+powder in it. I used regular flour with 1 tsp of baking soda and 1/2tsp of B. Powder added and it came out fine, indeed. The citrus adds a little zing to the flavor, making it a great palate cleanser! I'm sure you could use lime, orange or whatever strikes your fancy. To me, the Orange sounds especially good, yes??? This one is one of the only "made from scratch" desert recipe I've found here! Of course, it's only natural they ask for their cake mix, this is Betty Crocker, of course. Still, I can't help feeling like I'm cheating a bit, using mixes, I mean. Just a quirk of mine, that's all! ENJOY & Best Wishes, Rebecca in Tucson, AZ"

Very good, plus super easy to change in various ways. Fresh mushrooms, different pasta's; using leftover sauces make it even better! I've also made this with leftover chicken and beef roast, sliced thinly. Works beautifully. One can also spice it towards the Mexican flavors, like I did with the chicken, using Salsa, chilies, etc. Came out extra delicious! Don't be afraid to experiment, life's short, live it to the fullest!!! ENJOY, Rebecca in Tucson, AZ

WOW!! Just go for it and you'll LOVE IT, I promise. The homemade frosting is super easy and (no offense) so much better than any store bought frostings. In fact, even IF I use a boxed cake mix, I make my own frostings. So easy, I have recipe for one using chocolate chips! "Fanny Farmer Cookbook", you can't go wrong, honest! Plus, their reg. cookbook has so many tips right inside the covers- front and back - that are invaluable, those alone are worth the $ of the cookbook, which isn't expensive to start with. A good, basic book! When I saw they had a "Baking Book" I snapped it right up. HINT, when using cake mixes, sub 1 stick butter for oil, and it'll taste homemade!!! Works every time! Always use Large eggs, if it only calls for 2, use 3 eggs, keeps it moist much, much longer. Nothing worse than a dry cake, right??? Have Fun and Enjoy, RSB in Tucson, AZ

I made this for the first time today and my guy and I just loved it. I guessed the proportions as I was cooking for two, but mine came out great. The trick, of course, is to taste as you go along, till it tastes great to you and then go with that! Super easy, I used rice wine vinegar and dried basil, 2cloves garlic and 1/2 onion, chopped, it was wonderful.
