"It's been ages since I've had homemade French toast, so I thought on this Good Friday I would try to find a simple recipe. This is definitely it, and it was quite good, although I cut it down to 2-1/2 servings (2-1/2 slices of bread). I also was sorry to not be able to find a "healthified" recipe, so I made some minor adjustments and added a few ingredients. I used heart healthy Bisquick, fat free milk and egg substitute; in addition to cinnamon, I added a small amount of allspice, nutmeg, ground cardamon, and mace to the Bisquick; and of course I used true vanilla extract. I don't own a griddle, so I used non-stick cooking spray in my cast-iron skillet. Two minutes on medium-high heat gave me a nice golden coating, and then I used sugar free syrup. I just finished eating it and I'm very satisfied and would try my reworked version again. "
