Sausage Cheese Balls
I have to confess...I have converted to using the Paula Deen version of this recipe. Which is essentially the first three ingredients here plus a little pepper and nothing else! I use sharp cheese. I cook 18 min and they are perfect. Important note is it takes A LOT of work to get them to mix together. And you have to almost crush them together until they stay. But anywhere i take them...people fight over them. I also recommend TN pride mild sausage (especially if they are for a crowd- so even those who don't like spicy enjoy)
Those who are complaining they are dry..i swear it's the milk in this recipe. I don't know why, but every time I have done a version of these that has any extra liquid...they come out awful and dry. I think they always add liquid because it seems like it wouldn't hold together otherwise. But it does-- just not as easily!
