Luscious Layer Bars
"I made these as this recipe looked good and easy. I didn't put chocolate chips as I didn't have any that day. They still came out great and yummy! 36 bars were too many for 3 of us so I had my husband take some to share with his people at work the next day. He called me and told me that they were gone in an hour, and even some people from another section heard about it and came looking for it. When he came home, he had a list of people wanted the recipe!"

Cheddar-Salsa Biscuit Bites
"These came out dry and taste sort of powdery. They smell good and look very nice but it's just dry and plain and doesn't have "kick" to it. They are OK if you use dip such as nacho cheese or salsa, serve them with soup or something. I have to work on this for improvement."

Chocolate Malt Ice-Cream Cake
"I make this ice cream cake for everybody's birthday in my family. I alternate ice cream by individual likings - So far I have used vanilla, cookies and cream, and mint chocolate chips. They all came out great. You can get creative with toppings and make special one just for you!"

Cream Cheese Pound Cake
"I love cream cheese and when I looked at this recipe I had to make it. I was disappointed because the cake came out dry and a bit salty. (It's too Bisquick-y.) Sprinkling with powdered sugar would not be a good way to serve this cake - it's too dry and plain by itself. It needs to be with something for moisture and flavor; such as whipped cream, ice cream, yogurt, or fruit toppings. I topped with whipped cream and sliced strawberries and bananas."

Quick Cheeseburger Bake
"I didn't have cheddar cheese soup so I used cream of mushroom soup and a little bit of melted cheese instead. I also cut up carrots in small pieces and cooked with onions, then added some corn in beef mixture instead of using frozen mixed vegetables. (Peas didn't sound appealing to me for this dish.) It was easy to make and tasted great. My husband and my son enjoyed it very much. The only thing was that the crust was a little dry. Next time I will add something to Buisquick batter to give a little moist."

This is a great recipe to use Thanksgiving left over turkey. Last year I was determined not to waste and it was the first time ever I used it all. And this is one of the dish that helped me achieve the goal. It was very easy to make and tasted great. Kids didn't even notice it had leftover turkey in it.

This is very easy to make and I was actually surprised it came out so great. I used 1-3/4 cup brown sugar instead of 2 cups granulated sugar. Delicious and SO moist! It was so good that I decided to share with my friends. They loved it, too. This is definitely a keeper!

Bavarian Pork Chops

This recipe was sent to me on Dinner Made Easy newsletter a few weeks ago. It looked very good but I wasn't too sure about the combination of apples and sauerkraut... I read reviews and decided to try it anyways. I am glad I did because it was VERY GOOD. I added a little more barbecue sauce at the last 15 minutes. My husband and my son both had second servings. It was a hit!

When I saw this recipe, I thought this was a great way to use left over turkey. I cut up turkey meat into small pieces and made a few different versions - curried turkey with (shredded)mild cheddar, Taco turkey with Mexican blend cheese, and plain (no extra flavor) with just mayo, mustard, and Swiss cheese (added a little bit of chopped onions). They were all very good. My husband and son loved them. They called it "Turkey Hot Pockets". Their favorite was the plain one. I can make all kinds of different hot pockets using this recipe!

Sweet Country Cornbread
Rating:
I'm not sure what I did wrong... I don't think I over-mixed it... Is that because I used lowfat milk??? The taste was OK but it came out too dry. It was so crumbly that we made quite a mess at the dinner table. I will try another recipe for cornbread.
