ohio_cook replied to the topic Strawberry Cake Filling
"I'm planning on making the Watermelon Cake recipe, and I have a question about using a strawberry filling for it. I'm going to make one two-layer cake, instead of two one-layer cakes, and I would love to put a strawberry filling between the two cake layers"

ohio_cook replied to the topic Jumbo Cupcakes
"I have a really yummy-looking recipe for Peanut Butter-Filled Chocolate Cupcakes, but it calls for a jumbo cupcake pan, which I don't have and don't really want to use! Does anyone know if the cupcakes would turn out the same if I cooked them in two dozen"

"These were really cute! I used yellow food coloring instead of the semisweet chocolate so that the colors matched those of real candy corn. I only cooked mine for about 4 or 5 minutes, and they held their shape fairly well. This will definitely be a repeat in the following years."

"I love baking chocolate chip cookies! Unfortunately, however, our cookies always turn out flat and hard. Does anyone have any tricks to making cookies thick and soft?"

"Although it didn't look very much like the picture (it looked more like pineapple upside down cake), it still tasted amazing! I didn't use any nuts, and for the frosting I whipped about a cup of whipping cream and combined it with a whole container of Whipped Fluffy Frosting. This is an excellent autumn treat!"

Soooo delicious! I didn't have any lemons or lemon juice on hand, so I wasn't able to add those two ingredients, but even without that extra flavor it was amazing! Definitely a repeat in our kitchen.

I really liked this variation of the usual, plain old mac and cheese, although I did make some adjustments. I preboiled the pasta, using only 1 cup of milk when simmering the mixture. I also only used half of the corn that the recipe called for.

It definitely would have been too much peanut butter if I had added it to the frosting, so I left it out. Also, I think I could cut down on the jam a bit. Other than that, they were wonderful!

I halved the chili powder, knowing that the salsa alone would add plenty of spice. Very yummy!

My family really liked this recipe, but I found it a bit lacking. It wasn't worth chopping up the cherries because I couldn't taste them in the cheesecake. Also, if I make these again, I'll bake them in 13x9 pan so that they're not so thick. They were good, but not amazing.

Very good! Just make sure you cook the topping long enough; mine turned out a bit doughy :P
