Beef and Noodles Romanoff
"I lessened the sour cream, added more milk, added onion and used garlic salt. It turned out extremely tasteless and a little grainy. I was disappointed :( At least it smelled really good..."

Ultimate Crab Cakes
"these were a little bit of a disappointment. i will admit, i used imitation crab because the real stuff is SO expensive, but i don't really think that was the problem. First off the consistency was more like a seafood salad--very very thick. The cakes at restaurants seem to have a more ground up filling. Maybe throwing all of the ingredients into a food processor/blender would make them mesh more. They were SUPER hard to get to stick together but the only thing that helped was smashing them HARD in your hands into patty forms. The taste was okay but a little too mustardy. They weren't terrible, but I would pick a different recipe and use real crab next time. "

Mom's Macaroni and Cheese
"just made this for lunch and it was delicious. i topped it with shredded cheese and french's fried onions (delicious!) i also went pretty light on the onion. it turned out delicious! i don't love american cheese but it didn't taste like that at all--just creamy and yummy and home-goody! definitely recommend ! Cheese Ball
"well, this is delicious. Absolutely delish. I used Feta, and added provolone and mozzarella (I don't think you can go wrong with adding more cheese to a cheese ball). The worchestire (I can't spell that word, sorry) sauce gives it a very full, salty, yummy flavor. I used multip-grain cracker/chips with it and it was awesome! Tip: Instead of mixing it all in a bowl, refrigerating, and then shaping into a ball, just spoon it into a ball shape after it's mixed, then dump it all into a long piece of plastic wrap. Then Wrap it up into a ball shape, using the plastic to help shape it into a ball form. THEN refrigerate. That way it sets in the shape it's supposed to be in, instead of trying to form it afterward. I'll be making this again for Christmas!"

Ranch Chicken
"this is one of the most delicious recipes i have ever made. Just scrumptious. I love to make my own ranch (I use the hidden valley buttermilk recipe). It turns out WAY better than bottled ranch. Usually I have a lot left over after I make a salad so this recipe uses up the rest of the ranch. The chicken doesn't end up tasting like ranch exactly, but it gets very moist and the flavor is light, fresh, versatile, and absolutely a GOTTA MAKE THIS AGAIN recipe. "

Bow-Tie Pasta with Beef and Tomatoes
Rating:
I thought this was delicious and so did my husband. I will agree it has the possibility of being bland. Definitely use the flavored tomatoes and add some of your won spices. I upped the garlic, salt, pepper and added oregno, italian seasoning, parsley, and basil. It doesn't have a STRONG flavor but it has a really nice, light, yummy flavor. And the stir fry beef is way better than using hamburger. Gives it lots of texture and more flavor. Will definitely make again.

Vanilla Bean and Raspberry Tart
Rating:
this is a great summer treat and the filling is light and delish. i didn't see the point in the lemoncello--pricey (about $12 a bottle) and i could taste the liquor in the filling. it was weird, it has a tiny bit of that burning sensation i wish i just would have used lemon juice. i also used vanilla extract instead of the bean--i am sure bean might be better but they are SO expensive (about $13 for 2 pods which as i understood it is what the recipe calls for). All in all i think there's a cheap way to make the dessert and an expensive way (i used cream cheese too it was delicious!). The raspberries are great and the crust is tasty too thought mine was a little too thick. this reminds me more of a pie almost than a tart, but i would give it a thumbs up overall. you could use the filling recipe for a lot of yummy desserts--even a fruit dip or spread.
