"I served this for the kidCrew at my church yesterday, and it got rave reviews!!! I did add baby carrots like some other cooks suggested, and I also used the brown sugar baked beans and added in bbq sauce. It was a thick, rich, hearty stew. Great for a cold winter day!! Thanks for this recipe, I will make it again...BUT.. I might call it something else, because some people associated it with the Dallas Cowboys, and well, I live in Pennsylvania... need I say more?? :)"

"very good soup/stew (it is very thick), i also kicked it up a notch with some of my fave spices :) also agree with other cooks - beans should be soaked overnite 1st. easy to add in whatever you like at the time; bacon, ham, chicken, new whole potatoes, corn, peas, etc. it's hearty and healthy!!!"

"I think this is very tasty, and extremely moist. I baked half of it with a crumb-topping and left the other half plain for the glaze, the glaze never made it on top...it was eaten to fast!!! Also this is a very quick recipe to bake up. But next time I think I'll double the recipe and use a 13X9 pan."

"quick!!! best describes this mac&cheese. i ommitted the peas, but added some cheddar, garlic, black pepper and parsley flakes...kicked it up a notch! quite tasty! add-ins seem easy to this recipe; brocolli, onions, carrots, etc..."
