"I didn't know what "rustic white bread" was so I just bought an unsliced loaf of Italian bread from the bakery at my grocer. I cut it a bit thicker than a piece of white loaf bread, but thinner than Texas toast. I used thick sliced pepper bacon but both my husband and I agree thinner, extra crispy bacon would likely work better, even though it was still delicious. I nearly just buttered the bread instead of making the beer batter, but I will tell you this - DO NOT DO THAT! The batter is AMAZING on this grilled cheese! Easy to make, too! I'll be making this again!"

"I used chicken breast tenderloins, only 6 of them, instead of 4 whole breasts. I pounded them out a little first, as well. I couldn't find the rice called for in the recipe so I just used a chicken rice and vermicelli mix and omitted the red peppers. It was delicious! I read other reviews and decided to use less chicken and smaller portions (and obviously only 6 slices of ham). I also used one slice of cheese per piece of chicken because we LOVE cheese at my house. My husband asked me to make it again! I do believe this recipe needs some major tweaking but has major potential! "

"I made this a few months ago for a pot luck, exactly as the recipe stated, and it was absolutely delicious! I received numerous compliments on it. Very easy to make as well. I am making it for Christmas Eve since we normally have guests stop in and I, for one, cannot wait to eat it again. Delicious!"

"I read the other reviews before trying this recipe that said the recipe was bland, but I didn't think it was bland at all! I made it exactly as the recipe called for with the exception of cooking some minced garlic with the onions and peppers. Mine, also, was not watery as other had stated, however, I did let it sit and cool for 15 to 20 minutes before serving. To save some time, I used canned chicken breast meat, and I was going to use oven ready lasagna noodles but I grabbed the wrong kind while shopping. My husband and I both think it the leftovers tomorrow will be even more tasty once the flavor sit and mingle for a bit. I will definitely make this again!"

"The steak sauce really sets this off! My husband LOVED it which is a definite plus for me since it only takes (literally) minutes to make. We ate it over toast and mashed potatoes. Hardy, quick, and very, very good! I loved it as well! "

Very tasty! It was a little thin for my taste. I think I will add a bit more shredded cheddar next time but this recipe is a definite keeper. Simple, quick, and delicious!

I really enjoyed this. Really easy to make, and quick! I used canned chicken (that's all I had) and it was quick and easy. We ate it over spaghetti with sauce and some garlic bread. Will be making this again!
